چکیده

Bufferbloat is a phenomenon in computer networks where large router buffers are frequently filled up, resulting high queueing delay and variation. More more delay-sensitive applications on the Internet have made this pressing issue. Interacting with Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), active queue management (AQM) algorithms run routers play an important role combating bufferbloat. However, AQM not been widely deployed due to complicated manual parameter tuning. Moreover, they often designed analyzed based network models single bottleneck link, rendering their performance stability unclear multi-bottleneck networks. In paper, we propose general framework combat bufferbloat We first present equilibrium analysis for TCP/AQM system provide sufficient conditions uniqueness of point system. then decompose into single-bottleneck subsystems derive local asymptotic subsystems. Using our framework, develop algorithm compute further case study analyze recently proposed Controlled Delay (CoDel) devise Self-Tuning CoDel improve stability. Extensive numerical packet-level simulation results only verify theoretical studies but also show that significantly stabilizes networks, thereby mitigating

Tackling Bufferbloat in 3G/4G Mobile Networks

With the exponential growth of hand-held devices like smart phones and tablet computers, a deep investigation of TCP performance in cellular networks is becoming increasingly important. In this paper, we conducted extensive measurements over the 3G/4G networks of four major U.S. carriers as well as the largest carrier in Korea and discovered a significant problem: the bufferbloat in cellular ne...

Assessment of DSACC and QPART Algorithms in Ad Hoc Networks

The rapid advancement in wireless over wired has augmented the need for improving theQuality of Service (QoS) over such wireless links. However, the wireless ad hoc networkshave too low bandwidth, and establishing a QoS in these networks is a difficult issue. So,support of quality of service in ad hoc networks is the topical issue among the networkscience researchers. In this research we are go...

Bottleneck flows in networks

The bottleneck network flow problem (BNFP) is a generalization of several well-studied bottleneck problems such as the bottleneck transportation problem (BTP), bottleneck assignment problem (BAP), bottleneck path problem (BPP), and so on. In this paper we provide a review of important results on this topic and its various special cases. We observe that the BNFP can be solved as a sequence of O(...

Abr Traffic Control over Multi-source Single-bottleneck Atm Networks

The problem of flow control in fast, connection-oriented communication networks supporting the traffic generated by multiple sources is considered. A novel sampled time strategy governing the behaviour of the sources is proposed. The strategy combines the Smith principle with the conventional sampled time proportional controller. It guarantees an equal resource allocation between various users,...

The Bufferbloat Problem over Intermittent Multi-Gbps mmWave Links

Due to massive available spectrum in the millimeter wave (mmWave) bands, cellular systems in these frequencies may provides orders of magnitude greater capacity than networks in conventional lower frequency bands. However, due to high susceptibility to blocking, mmWave links can be extremely intermittent in quality. This combination of high peak throughputs and intermittency can cause significa...
